“The twelve-tone series is my freedom to arrange the twelve tones of the chromatic scale given to me by nature and to form them into intervals according to the tense relationship of the expression to be achieved in each case.” (Rainer Bischof) As a student of Hans Erich Apostel, Rainer Bischof is heir to a compositional tradition shaped by the Viennese School and is still the standard bearer of Arnold Schönberg’s twelve-tone method. A concert in honor of his 75th birthday reveals the roots of his music and at the same time proves the vitality of twelve-tone composing up to our time.
The concert will be broadcast live on facebook and YouTube and will be available for seven days afterwards.
